Seventy-Third Launch
[Action; private; Goldenrod City]
[Valentine's Day. This was a day for sharing your love with the people you care about.
...And yet one of the people here was in his room, staring in horror at the bouquet in his hands and the Furret at his feet.
Athrun had sent a dozen red roses to Rise for the day, only to find that Kanzeon brought them back to his room, then curled up around his feet. It wasn't hard to guess the meaning here.
One of the first friends he made here, and the closest friend he had made here. Gone. Unable to fulfill her promise. Unable to reassure him. Unable to cheer him on.
And to make matters worse, it happened on the anniversary of his mother's death.
It was too much for him to handle. So, he tossed the bouquet aside and scooped the Furret up in his arms. And, for the first time since he'd gotten here, he cried.]
[Text]
I apologize for being scarce lately, but I've needed some private time. If you need me, send me a message or come find me in my hotel room or at the department store.
[[OoC: The rest of Athrun's Valentine's Day gifts went out. Lacus got a bouquet of white roses, and Yayoi a bouquet of white carnations. Azusa, Ur, and Kobato got a trio of pink carnations each.]]

She could think of only one reason why.
Rise was gone.
Athrun was probably very affected by it, so for the next few days she decided not to call him. Or visit. After this text, she thought maybe it was alright to now. Knocking on the door --- ]
Athrun? It's me.

Is something wrong, Lacus?

I should be asking you that question ...

Thank you very much for the flowers, Athrun-kun. They were a pleasant surprise. I hope your private time is going well!

[text]
I'll just thank you properly when you're less private.
[text]
[text]
It wouldn't feel right to go to a gathering like that by myself.
[text]
If that's the case, then I could be your escort.

... Athrun? Are you all right?
[text]
Did you know Rise Kujikawa?
[text]
I believe I met her once or twice.

[text]
... I'm sorry. Having friends sent home is a difficult loss to deal with.
[and one that she's had to deal with quite a bit this past month or so]

Thanks for the flowers, Athrun-san, and I hope you got the chocolates I sent you. I hope you had a nice, private Valentine's Day.

Yayoi, if you have the chance, I want you to come see me.

[ And- soon enough, there's going to be a knocking on Athrun's door. ]
[action]
Hey. Come on in.
[action]
[ And Yayoi walks in, looking like she's had all the air punched out of her. She's definitely looking out of sorts, at that. ]
