Hey, I've been curious. Has anybody spent a lot of time in New Bark Town? I've never even spent a night there, and in my experience, most other people brought here are much the same. I was just wondering if anybody was more thorough in their time there.

On that note, I'm going to New Bark Town. I think the town is well overdue for a thorough investigation. I don't want any of you coming with me; the fewer people do this, the better, and I'm versed enough in stealth that I can do it without detection. I wanted to let you know because you deserve to know. Call me if there are any problems in my absence.

Shinn, I'm going to New Bark Town to conduct an investigation. The reason why I'm telling you this is that you're the only person here whom I can trust to give me sufficient backup. I wanted to extend to you the chance to join me on this; I can easily pick you up on the way.

Isn't New Bark Town the place where everyone arrived..? [ She sounds more curious than anything. ] Why would you want to spend time there?

Because there may be more there than meets the eye. I'm not one to leave a mystery untouched if I can help it.

I spent a little bit of time there, but I hurried on to Cherrygrove City when the others started to go as well. I suppose it was some time before I made a call on my PokeGear though...

How closely did you look around in New Bark Town, if you don't mind my asking?

Let me think... I arrived in October of last year--wow, has it really been that long? Nero and I should celebrate. [ Realizing quickly that she's rambling off on a tangent, she shakes her head. ] Everything was out of the ordinary for me, so I doubt anything I saw was not the usual for this place.

No, not at all. Nero was here for me and we've been adjusting together.

That's good. Having someone with you from the start is a good thing to have...

If you go there to investigate, maybe you can be there for a few others. So they aren't entirely lost.

...That's true. I hadn't thought of that. I wouldn't necessarily be able to travel with them, but I could at least get them on the right path...

That way even if you fail to uncover anything, you've helped some people. That would be a good thing to have, I think.

It would be. I won't deny that it would be nice to leave feeling like I accomplished something, no matter what.
