Name: Athrun Zala
Canon: Mobile Suit Gundam SEED
Overview: Athrun is a second-generation Coordinator, a person whose parents' genes were artificially enhanced. When tensions between Coordinators and Naturals turned into war, he enlisted to fight for Coordinators' autonomy -- and ended up fighting against his best friend, who was fighting for the Naturals to protect his own friends. After realizing both sides wanted genocide, they took a third option and made them stop -- only for an Illuminati-esque group to restart tensions two years later. Athrun and Kira had to repeat the process, only this time they had to stop two groups of people who wanted to control the world.
Enrollment Status: New transfer student. 11th grade.
Species: Awakened human.
AU Overview: Athrun was born to Patrick Zala, a US senator from the state of Rhode Island, and his wife, Lenore. Both of Athrun's parents were humans with supernatural powers, and as such, he inherited them. He has spent most of his life attending boarding schools within New England and New York, and his parents held off on sending him to St. Augustus because he had enough control of his powers to keep them from manifesting in the open until he turned fifteen. His upbringing has made him very prim and proper, albeit quiet, and with a bit of a father complex because of how little time Patrick has had for his son.
As for his powers, he has reflexes that are, ordinarily, touching the extreme limits of human capability. Eventually, he will gain the ability to enter SEED Mode, a state of enhanced cognition that not only accelerates his reflex speed, but also the speed of his entire nervous system and his thought processes. Additionally, his powers manifest in a way similar to the Stands from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, only they're human-sized mecha. At the start, he'll have the Aegis, then it'll transform into the Savior, then the Justice, and ultimately the Infinite Justice. The Aegis and the Savior can only be maintained at full power for limited periods of time, with the Savior being able to be maintained longer and take less time to recharge, whereas the Justice and Infinite Justice can be maintained indefinitely.
